A Biography of Sarah GeorgeSarah George was born in Crawley in 1971 but moved to Bournemouth at the age of two and grew up, as far back as she can remember, with a fascination for creative pursuits. It was a comment from her art teacher on the quality of a cat sketch that she had produced that made Sarah, at the age of nine, aware of her talent for art. The following year she came runner-up in a national art competition and went on to obtain an "A" grade in both "O" and "A" level art at Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth. |
| While at
senior school Sarah enjoyed screen-printing and won first
prize for her design on a denim jacket. The judges
commented on her strong use of colour. During her school
holidays she exhibited her work at local art venues and,
over a period of years, her artistic talent was enjoyed
as a hobby. She built up a comprehensive portfolio of
work and commissions, and has illustrated a book on
Bearded Collies. A few years later Sarah attended college
for two years and developed her skills as a bookbinder
working with leather, gold leaf and marble papers to
produce beautiful albums and books. Sarah now aims to make her way into the challenging world of full-time painting and drawing. Sarahs love of the outdoors and animals has led her to draw a lot of her inspiration from the world of nature. She is equally at home working with watercolour or fine art pencils. Sarahs paintings and drawings, in miniature or large format, are very delicate and often have a sense of humour about them. Because this talented artists work is being sought after by an increasing number of collectors her work has now been put into a series of limited edition prints. With Sarahs ever growing range of subjects we are really looking forward to the future with great excitement. |
