Nikki Masserella has been at Poole Pottery for more than 20 years and has become one of the pottery’s leading studio artists. Carefully learnt techniques working with leading designers such as Tony Morris and Anita Harris, have been fused with a natural talent for both colour and form. Her design ability has been recognised for many years, early pieces thrown by our Master Potter Alan White and decorated by Nikki Masserella are much sought after. More recently she has brought her fascination for the precise form of flower structure together with an appreciation of ‘Living Glaze’ effects to create a unique and distinctive look to her outstanding one-off pieces. The intricate detailing and leading edge techniques used to gain both patina and texture bring a three dimensional quality to her work that is finding great appreciation among her many admirers |
