The 'Living Glaze' technique was pioneered at Poole 40 years ago to achieve the ‘Delphis’ look. Pieces of ‘Delphis’ appear increasingly at Fine Art Auction Houses and dealers throughout the World, being highly valued by collectors. Each individual piece is unique. ‘Living Glaze’ involves the application of different glazes which react with one another during the firing process to achieve the unique result you seen on the 'Living Glaze' Pottery Collections. Fine surface ‘crackling’ is a natural result of this process and the antique effect will continue to develop as the piece matures, adding to its character. As the pieces mature over time you can hear, by listening carefully, the glaze moving against the clay. ‘Living Glaze’ gives each piece an entirely individual character, ensuring that no two pieces are ever exactly alike. |
